MooreHaven was founded in * to provide a day
service for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
Today, the service provides day and residential services to over
* service users and their families through the
work of over * staff. Service users attend from
within a *-mile radius of Tipperary Town,
primarily from counties Tipperary and Limerick. MooreHaven currently
has day facilities in Tipperary Town and Cashel and five residential
homes in Tipperary Town. Significant growth and expansion is envisaged
in the years ahead.

Services provided now encompass day services, training programmes, day
activation, supported work/employment, and HIQA-registered residential
and respite facilities. Funding is provided by the HSE under Section
* of the Health Act *
and from MooreHaven’s members and supporters and its fundraising
activities.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE – JOB DESCRIPTION

INTRODUCTION

_REPORTING TO: _The Board of Directors.

_OVERALL ROLE OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE_

The Chief Executive is responsible for both the strategic and
operational leadership of MooreHaven, ensuring that the activities of
the Service are focused on its mission and objectives and that all
activities are focused on delivering the Strategic and Operating Plans
as set out by the Board.

They will provide strong, values-based leadership to enable MooreHaven
achieve its mission to support adults with an intellectual disability,
thus enabling them develop and grow to their full potential through
our Day and Residential Services.

They will effectively and efficiently manage MooreHaven’s Staff and
other resources.

They will protect and assert MooreHaven's position as an independent
advocate for adults with a disability and their families.

_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_

The Chief Executive will provide strong leadership to the
Organisation, serve as its spokesperson, and build strong working
relationships and alliances with all key stakeholders, all to drive
the implementation of the Strategic Plan in the most effective and
efficient manner.

They are accountable for the overall performance of the Organisation
and the day-to-day running and management of the Organisation's
operations, under delegated authority from the Board.

The Chief Executive will act as the key spokesperson for MooreHaven
with all stakeholders at national and local levels (including
politicians and senior officials in government departments) to further
the objectives of the Organisation.

The Chief Executive will have a commitment to working with and
alongside persons with a disability in a caring and inclusive way and
have an empathetic understanding of those with an intellectual
disability.

_EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS_

_ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE_

* Committed to the development of services in line with best practice
for adults with intellectual disabilities and a proven track record
and commitment to human rights and equality.
* A minimum of 5 years’ substantial experience in a senior,
strategic leadership role in an organisation of similar scale and
complexity, preferably in the Disability Sector.
* Demonstrable significant experience of working with a Board and
effectively managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Relevant knowledge and experience of the workings of the HSE,
Irish Government and policy-making systems including inter-sectoral
knowledge and networks.
* A proven record of interacting with a range of stakeholders and
involvement in the community.
* Demonstrable experience in strategic and long-term planning and
the ability to ensure that operational plans and activities meet
targets and appropriately reflect medium- to long-term objectives.
* Ability to think strategically, shape strategic direction and to
take and execute decisions.
* Demonstrable people leadership and management experience, and a
record of accomplishment of delivering ambitious strategies. Ability
to mobilise, inspire and motivate.
* Proven financial management and financial literacy. Thorough
understanding of funder relationships and experience preparing and
presenting detailed budgets, plans and financial analysis.
* Experience in developing and implementing effective fundraising
strategies.
* Strong risk-management experience.
* Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management and
interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrable experience in critical thinking, analysis and
problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage a varied and complex workload.
* Self-motivated and ability to work within a team.
* Excellent IT skills, proficiency with MS Office Suite and other
managerial IT systems.
* Results-focused.

_QUALIFICATIONS_

* Minimum requirement – Primary Degree in a relevant discipline
i.e. Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, Social Care,
Disability or another relevant discipline.
* Desirable – Master’s Degree or Professional Qualification in a
relevant discipline
* Membership of a relevant associated accredited body.

_PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES_

The MooreHaven Centre is seeking an energetic and dynamic leader with
strong management skills, a strategic mind-set and experience working
in a multifaceted role alongside boards or committees.

This key role is a hands-on role for the successful applicant who will
have strong experience/expertise in operations management, leading and
motivating staff, financial control, risk management and governance.
They will be self-motivated in achieving performance-related targets
to ensure MooreHaven delivers on its strategic and operational goals.

They will deliver the Organisation's strategic plan in the most
effective and efficient manner and will be accountable for the overall
operational performance of the Organisation under delegated authority
from the Board.

REMUNERATION/NON-PAY RELATED BENEFITS

_REMUNERATION_

Salary linked to the HSE CEO Band SC1 Scale, commensurate with
experience, is offered for this role.

_NON-PAY RELATED BENEFITS_

* Annual Leave: * days
* Employer pension contribution of 6%, subject to minimum employee
contribution of 5%.
* Employer life assurance contribution of 1%.
